Solar energy and e–mobility projects represent the majority of our current portfolio, 45% and 26% of the total pipeline (31 projects), respectively. The average investment ask is around USD 12 M and is normally more inclined toward equity (56%) than debt (44%) of the investment ask. PPSE does not deploy grants in any form, instead, we provide project development and investment facilitation services to our clients in the form of tailored technical assistance.
PPSE originates projects mostly by one–on–one introductions and connections. At the same time, outreach efforts through online meetings and events prevailed during COVID–19 restrictions; after those measures were lifted, in–person meetings and events started to increase. At the same time, social media campaigns were rolled out to support the quarterly call for applications and encourage developers to apply.
In addition to our own events, team members and advisors have been invited as speakers to present the PFAN business model and our services, for example, at the Sindh Investment Conference held on the sidelines of the Expo Dubai 2020 (Dec 2021), the Global SME Finance Forum 2021 (October 2021) organized by the International Finance Corporation, and the Green Financing Mechanism workshop co–organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) & GIZ in Karachi (June 2022).
