Omar Qasmi has 15 years of experience in the energy sector across operational, consulting and project management roles. He has helped in building and managing eight renewable energy power projects with a combined value of USD 500 million in Pakistan, where he with his team also supported end-users to integrate sustainable energy solutions into their livelihood. His portfolio includes the power, manufacturing, insurance, renewables and steel sectors.
Omar is an electrical engineer with a degree from the University of Bradford, UK. He has worked on renewable energies at a micro-level and is well-versed in electricity projects and national regulations. Furthermore, he is an energy auditor and was part of the Training of Trainers programme carried out by the National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority. Omar is currently advising Transatlantic Energy Private Limited.
Maha is the CEO & Co-Founder of Zero-Point Partners, an advisory firm focused on enabling the transition to a sustainable economy. She has 13+ years of experience in environmental management, environmental & social governance (ESG) performance & disclosure, renewable energy and climate finance.
Previously, Maha was the Pakistan Country Advisor to Globesight, a global development firm that providing advisory, programme development and implementation support to clients in the Middle East, South Asia and North America. In this role, she provided strategic support for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Pakistan Engagement Strategy focusing on climate change, poverty alleviation, polio eradication, routine immunization, family planning, nutrition and financial inclusion. Earlier, she provided climate finance advisory and organizational capacity-enhancement support to Reon Energy and JS bank and successfully secured their accreditation to the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
Prior to this, Maha worked for Engro Corporation and its subsidiaries. She has written extensively about the impacts of climate change and Pakistan’s renewable energy potential and co-authored a paper on Energy Security in Pakistan and another on Green Finance in Pakistan for the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). Maha holds a Masters in Environmental Management from the Yale School of Environment and a BSE in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Princeton University.
